Baglama or Octave Saz
£735.00
Scale length 750mm or 660mm
Tuning D A D, G D G or G D A
This instrument originated in Greece, and has three double, and sometimes triple, courses. Both long and short scale saz can have quarter tone frets fitted if required. With the tuning D A D it can be played in a similar way to the bouzouki.
The traditional saz has a round, bole-backed body. The instruments I make have a flat back for ease of playing. The frets are set so that the instrument is tuned and played in modern concert pitch.
